Biography of Cynthia McKay,

Le Gourmet Gift, Inc. CEO

Cynthia’s educational background has given her a great deal of versatility as she lends a hand in this growing market with studies in art at the University of London, England and a Doctorate Degree from the University of Denver College of Law.

Listed in Who's Who Among American Law Students, Cynthia excelled both locally and nationally as an up and coming entrepreneur and advisor to those wanting a career as a home based business person. Cynthia's philosophy emphasizes the fact that security is found in self-employment. She has developed the practical economics of a home-based business so that profit is high, overhead is low, and as a self-employed individual, morale is great!

While Cynthia strives for the success of her own company, her efforts to help others succeed in their ventures has won her honors, including Women in Business Advocate of the Year Award from the Small Business Administration for her accomplishments in the development of business opportunities for women.

Cynthia has also received awards such as the Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year, the Blue Chip Enterprise Award by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the American Associations of University Women Trailblazer's Award.

Cynthia not only receives recognition for her abilities to be a leader in the industry, but hundreds have benefited from Le Gourmet’s success. Since the inception of the war with Iraq, Cynthia also developed the Treats for Troops organization, which provides snacks, magazines, toiletries, books, and newspapers from home to men and women stationed overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan. She has received numerous accolades from military officers thanking her for supporting our troops during these difficult times. The Treats for Troops is funded solely through personal donations made by Le Gourmet CEO Cynthia McKay.

Cynthia has also been nationally recognized in publications such as Woman’s Day, USA Weekend, and Good Housekeeping for her overwhelmingly generous efforts in charitable donations. She has founded Purses For Paws and Heels for Hounds, an animal rescue fund that has helped thousands of animals in need. This organization collects designer bags and shoes as well as other items to be auctioned off on EBay with all proceeds going to help injured and abandoned animals. In fact, a large percentage of Le Gourmet distributorship and basket sales are donated to fund medical care for animals.

Cynthia McKay has been an animal lover all of her life. Several years ago an experience changed her feelings from caring to intense passion for animals when she heard on the news that a dog had been hit by a car, left for dead and would in fact die if unless someone would come forward and pay the medical and surgical costs. Cynthia turned her car around and went to the vet hospital where the payment was made and surgery commenced immediately. From that time, Cynthia realized the need for funding to save animals across the country. She provided the crates necessary for the Humane Society to rescue and transport animals from the Hurricane Katrina site. She paid for the vaccinations and other medical treatment for the feline and canine Katrina victims as they arrived in Colorado.

Le Gourmet has a long list of charities who receive special volunteer work from Le Gourmet Staff Members as well as significant donations throughout the year. Some of those organizations include: PAALS FOR LIFE, a non-profit organization providing animal companionship to the elderly, The Salvation Army, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, ARC, Jerry's Kids, The North Shore Animal League as well as a variety of animal shelters across the country. Le Gourmet has also been recognized for their tireless efforts in food donation for shelters and indigent individuals throughout Colorado.
